ESSglobal launch at FIESS, Montreal

The experimental version of the ESSglobal interoperability mapping project will be presented during the FIESS 2011 (International Forum on Social and Solidarity Economy), which takes place from the 17th to the 20th of October 2010 in Montreal.

With the growth of the organization of Social and Solidarity Economy (SSE) in different countries, the capacity of publicizing and sharing informations of SSE initiatives also got stronger, through mappings, construction of databases, systems of information and portals in the Internet. Unfortunately, these informations are still restricted to each network. During FIESS 2011 the results of an international initiative, started in 2008, will be presented, where 10 Social and Solidarity Economy information systems from different countries are building up global standards to achieve economic and thematic intercommunication among national SSE information systems. It will also be the occasion to discuss the next steps and procedures for other national networks to join the initiative, and will present a first prototype of a global interactive map of SSE initiatives in ten countries, called ESSGLOBAL.
